What whitening system do we offer?

When it comes to tooth whitening, every patient is different. Patients have different lifestyles and smiles with varying needs; which means it’s unlikely a single whitening product is a “one size fits all.

That’s why it’s important to offer patients a choice. At Moira Dental Care we have partnered with White Dental Beauty and their professional tooth whitening systems do just that.

White Dental Beauty tooth whitening gels have a variety of different strengths, all powered by NOVON® – a whitening compound that delivers improved whitening results over less treatment time.

How does it work?

If you are interested in tooth whitening, the first step is to book in with one of our dentists for a consultation. Our dental practitioners will not carry out any tooth whitening treatments without a full examination first, so the ideal time to start this conversation is when you are in for your routine check-up or your new patient consultation.

White Dental Beauty tooth whitening gels are designed to be used with custom-fitted whitening trays which we can take impressions for here in Moira Dental Care this provides you with an easy-to-use system that delivers predictable, consistent results. Offering various choices of strength, White Dental Beauty meets the needs of virtually every patient.

How many visits to the practice do I need?

Tooth whitening appointments usually consist of three visits to the practice

First visit: to discuss suitability for whitening and take impressions for whitening trays

Second visit: to return to the practice to have your trays fitted and talk you through how to use your new whitening products

Third visit: another appointment to return for a review 1 month later to see if you have achieved your desired shade.

You can then purchase top-up syringes from the practice as and when required.

I have fillings and crowns, will they whiten too?

No.

Any existing crowns, veneers, fillings or composite bonding will not change colour with whitening. We would recommend a visit with our hygienist to see if any staining can be removed from these teeth before starting any whitening treatments. Then, if this isn't possible - we could start to look at options like replacing these existing restorations with new treatments that match your dream for your smile.

This is why we always recommend a full dental examination before any whitening treatment is carried out, as we can discuss all options with you to make a well informed decision.
